Warren Breeland-Clencie - Foil
Warren's lifelong passion for the arts and his eclectic style of music have made him a major contributor in the positive development of youth for many years. Bringing discipline, creative forms of expression, and challenging cognitive excercises to the club, he influences the development of character in youth, contributing to intellectual and emotional growth through the building of inner strength that benefits children for a lifetime.
Striving for excellence
Warren started as a mature-aged fencer in 1998, and rapidly discovered his love and passion for teaching the art of fencing. His feel for tact and rhythm, his patience and diligence, and his determination and enthusiasm, made him an outstanding candidate for the coaching role. Warren has spent the last 16 years under the tutelage of Maître d'Armes Ernie Simon, studying the art of foil fencing.
His gentleman-like spirit, never-ending striving for excellence, and attention to detail set him well on the path to become a master in his field.
Being an artist and a fencing coach, Warren has had opportunities to experience various aspects of performance. He prepares his students to perform well in stress situations, teaching them to cultivate "the flow" of letting go and being in the moment.
Warren is now recognised as one of Victoria's most popular foil coaches. He counts among his recent successes the placing of students in all top 4 places in the under-15 and under-13 age groups in the prestigious MFC Cup. Warren has led his students to high accomplishment, and to improve on their personal bests, in selected Victorian Championships.
With his analytical abilities and eye for precision, Warren is well equipped to conquer Australia's fencing arena. He is highly acclaimed and regarded among fencers, parents, and coaches alike.
